W8- classmate convo- Roxana Gutierrez

roxanna

This week I had the pleasure of meeting Roxana Gutierrez, a fellow freshman. Here she is seen letting me be tall for a bit ^.^. Instantly she seemed like a really chill and interesting person. The first thing that caught my eye was her tattoos <3. After she showed me what they were, we had a small conversation about different tattoos that we find nice. Roxana has a full moon on her right forearm and a quote on the back of her forearm that reads:

“I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.”

This quote is stated by Edgar Allen Poe and no doubt has a special deeper meaning to Roxana.

After speaking about tattoos, the conversation changed gears to school and the future. Roxana, having been born in Torrance and raised in Long Beach, went to Lakewood High School and decided she wanted to further her education at Cal State Long Beach. Roxana, like many other college students (myself included), is still unsure what career she wants to pursue in the future. However, presently she is majoring in psychology, because she has a passion for it and enjoys learning about the subject.

Then Roxana currently works at target and has been working there for about 9 months (which is also her first job). She enjoys working there, however she prefers spending time with her friends from Lakewood High School (or fakewood :P) and watching scary movies, since that is her favorite movie genre is horror. Although she enjoys horror, her favorite movie is End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Roxana, a freshman whose favorite color is turquoise and has a twin brother (who she thinks looks nothing like her), was a pleasure talking to and learning about. I had an interesting conversation with her about tattoos, movies, the future, and would definitely talk to her again.
